Sullivan County > Liberty
Liberty was the home of Grossinger’s – the king of Catskills resorts and the inspiration for the film “Dirty Dancing.” Grossinger’s closed in 1986; its last building was demolished in 2018.
The largest nonprofit here is the Gerry Foundation, headed by Sandra and Alan Gerry, the billionaire founder of Cablevision Industries. Gerry sold the company to Time Warner in 1996.
